Acceptable Use Policy
Rules for lawful use of HavenPay. This Policy lists prohibited businesses, security expectations, and how we enforce compliance with laws and card-scheme requirements.
1.Purpose of this Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of the Terms of Service between you and HavenPay (the operator of havenpay.io). It sets rules for lawful, responsible use of HavenPay’s website, APIs, dashboard, and payment Services.
Violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms and may result in Payment blocks, reserve holds, suspension, termination, and reports to Partners, card schemes, or authorities.
2.General rules
You agree that you will not, and will not allow others to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, sanctions regime, or card scheme rule.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person.
- Submit Payments that are not authorised by the customer or that misrepresent the goods or services sold.
- Use the Services to launder money, finance terrorism, evade taxes, or conceal the origin of funds.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, Accounts, APIs, or data belonging to HavenPay, Merchants, or customers.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services except with our prior written authorisation under a coordinated disclosure programme.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, including through malware, flooding, or abusive automated traffic.
- Circumvent risk controls, identity checks, velocity limits, or reserves.
- Misuse affiliate, referral, or promotional programmes.
- Resell or white-label the Services without a written agreement authorising you to do so.
3.Prohibited and restricted businesses
Unless HavenPay has given prior written approval and all Partner/scheme conditions are met, you may not use the Services for businesses or transactions involving:
Illegal and high-risk financial activity
- Illegal products or services, including narcotics and unlicensed pharmaceuticals.
- Unlicensed money transmission, cheque cashing, or cash advance schemes.
- Ponzi, pyramid, get-rich-quick, or investment schemes that guarantee unrealistic returns.
- Binary options, unlicensed securities offerings, or market manipulation.
Adult, gambling, and weapons
- Certain adult content or escort services where prohibited by Partner or scheme rules.
- Gambling, lotteries, or fantasy sports where you lack required licences for each jurisdiction served.
- Weapons, explosives, or ammunition sales that violate law or Partner policies.
Deceptive and harmful practices
- Counterfeit goods, IP-infringing content, or unauthorised ticket sales.
- Fake reviews, deceptive endorsements, or bait-and-switch practices.
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, or tools primarily designed for unauthorised access.
- Hate, violent extremist content, or content that exploits minors in any way.
Crypto-specific restrictions
- Mixing/tumbling services intended to obscure transaction trails.
- Unregistered securities token offerings where registration or exemption is required and lacking.
- Facilitating sanctions evasion or darknet market settlement.
- Using crypto Payouts to settle transactions for Prohibited Businesses listed above.
4.Card scheme and Partner rules
You must comply with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and other network rules applicable to your transactions, including proper use of merchant descriptors, evidence retention, and Chargeback response timelines.
You must not use the Services to process transactions on behalf of a third party (aggregated or “factoring”) unless expressly authorised in writing and permitted by Partners.
5.Content, branding, and API use
- Do not impersonate HavenPay or imply endorsement without permission.
- Do not scrape documentation or dashboards in a way that overloads infrastructure.
- Respect rate limits and authentication requirements published in developer docs.
- Do not share secret API keys in public repositories, client-side code, or unsecured channels.
6.Monitoring and enforcement
We may monitor transactions and account activity for AUP compliance, fraud, and financial crime risk. We may request information about your business model, fulfilment, or beneficial owners at any time.
Enforcement actions may include warnings, Payment declines, payout delays, reserves, suspension, termination, and preservation of data for investigations. We are not obligated to provide advance notice where doing so would compromise security or legal obligations.
7.Reporting violations
If you become aware of abuse or a security vulnerability, contact hello@havenpay.io (abuse) or legal@havenpay.io (legal). Please do not publicly disclose security issues before we have had a reasonable opportunity to remediate.
8.Updates
We may update this AUP to reflect law, scheme rules, or risk appetite. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance under the Terms.
